Week 2
Been a bit slack at updating with happenings from this side of the world. It’s all good, as they say. Been up to loads of mischief in a manner only I could achieve. Working really hard and hopefully some of the leads will pay dividends sometime soon. Lots to do mind, and relatively little time to do it. Next year I might suggest we extend my stay to at least a few months. This time i’ve only got 5 weeks in HK, which, to be honest, isn’t enough time. Having settled in, it’s almost time to go. The next 3 weeks will be packed solid.
The Silvermine Bay Hotel is really cool. Mui Wo is like a holiday resort- well it is in fact. The hotel is recommended by Lonely Planet as The place to stay in HK, so the clientele tend to be fairly young and normally limit their stay to say 5 nights, being in the main, backpackers. This makes for a nice mix and there’s been some very nice friends i’ve got to know from sitting outside the front of the hotel, staring out at the wonderful aqautic vista of the island of Cheung Chau perched on the horizon, as the gentle tidal glassy waters lap up the white golden beach to the doorstep. Quite a setting.Of course, no study has been achieved thus far. Talking of which, managed an A in Managerial Economics and a c+ in Financial Management. Chuffed. Last semester and the hardest challenge awaits.
It’s been hot this weekend. In fact saturday was in the 90’s and probably the worst day to bugger about playing rugby. But, that’s what I did. It nearly killed me. I lost the power of speech for a good hour after the final whistle. I was sweating faster than I could drink water.I’m playing for the Sequins, a very social bunch of guys with a truly international flavour. Majority are over 35 and there’s no training proposition, so I fit in quite well. We won 38 to 10. The standard is very good. Most of the team have played a good standard and just enjoy the run out. For example, the no8 used to play for Natal- quite a number have been capped for HK. So, there I was on saturday, perched on the terrace of this fantastic pitch after our game, drinking with the boys. The pitch is inside Happy Valley race track- it’s an amazing backdrop. Just talking about the pitch for a second, it’s like an astro turf that’s bouncy and doesn’t scuff or carpet burn when you fall.I’ve registered now, so i’ll play every week from now on until I leave. My body is sore all over. Possibly the most i’ve ached for ages. I have a nasty cut on my forehead, which doesn’t look great, but I look on it as a talking point, rather than a negative.
Went to a nightclub with a girl called Dawn, known as prawn, on saturday night. Left at 5.30 and danced all night. Had a fantastic time- brilliant DJ, and that’s coming from me. Took me a good hour to relax fully, given the high propensity of benders and perhaps the addition of Paddy on the rocks, but relax I did and it was brilliant.Dawn, known as prawn, was great fun..She gave me her key to her flat in case we got seperated given that i’d missed the last boat back to Mui Wo (3 am), but when I got outside, I foolishly sat on a bench and pathetically awoke at 7.30 with a full street of people. Caught the boat back and lay by the pool, before going to lunch with Steve followed by the pub to watch the race meeting card at Sha Tin. Broke even, although to my dismay, I could have made a fortune on a race where I went against my gut feeling, and if I had placed a Quinella place (2 out of 3 horses, each way) as I was going to I would have made enough to live off until I leave here. The odds on the 2 horses that came in would have eaned me about HKD30k off a HKD50 bet. I came away with HKD600 instead. Such is life, but I learnt my lesson. Met a nice couple of Steve’s friends tonight- a new york couple and ate fresh fish and prawns wokked-up Cantonese style with chilli and garlic. Superb meal looking out to sea and a wonderful red sunset.I’ll be twitching tonight mind.
Still not sure what i’m going to do with my 2 weeks at the beginning on November. Tempted to go to either Vietnam or Laos. However, if I can get a cheap flight, i’m tempted with New Zealand. Bali, after yesterday, no doubt will be cheap, but i’ve been there a few times and personally i’d like to try somewhere i’ve not been to. There’s potential with Taman Negarra, the jungle in north east Malaysia. That’s meant to be superb. Jonny B is travelling around China still, so I might hook up with him.Jonny, give me a ring and we can discuss further. I finish work on 31st August and then fly out of Singapore for Amsterdam on 13th November. It’s those 2 weeks that I need to fill.
I think I might grow a moustache.
I’ve got a lot to do this week. I was going to go to Mon Kok (yes, I know, another good name) to buy a camera, but have instead been informed that Wanchai is the place to go. I need to buy a sim card for works mobile phone. I need to study. I need to write up about 15 meeting notes. I’ll be busy with loads of meetings. Meeting Dawn/Prawn tomorrow for lunch, Brad wednesday night and quizzing it thursday with Olivia. Playing rugby saturday, on a junk boat trip in the New Territories sunday. Average week in the life of the social elite. After all, what do they say, it’s all about the work/life balance.Loving it and feeling good about myself for the first time in a long time.
This is rather a small communique, but i’m tired and I need to get some sleep before I wake up around 3ish and start to think about crap for the rest of the night, or until say 5.30, when I might eventually drift off into the deepest and best ever sleep, only for the alarm to feck it all up at 7. Sounds as if i’m talking from experience…

Call me a stickler for detail, but it seems that as well as not being able to talk after the match, you seem to have missed a proportion of the game as well as gifting the opposition with 3 more points !!

Enjoyable reading.
By the way, dont grow a moustache. When I tried at your age, I looked like Bluto. (For younger readers thats Popeye’s arch rival) However, your more a Grace than a Woodcock.

Will my antivirus (that is set to run automatically), run even if my computer is shutted down or off. I was just wondering because I set it to run at 5:00am weekly, full scan, but I not awake at that time, and my computer is not on, so is it gonna scan for viruses even though..? forex robot

i have an anti virus that I bought, but when sometimes I hit a link or something on the internet, it will automatically detect a threat and it shows like its scanning something like in red color, and it tells me to install something, which is not even related to my anti virus, it seems like theres something totally different that its scanning, like it says anti virus threats scan, what is this? what should I do? forex robot

My virus protection was malfunctioning for a short time yesterday, and during that time I got a virus. I believe I’ve gotten rid of it, but I’m now experiencing another problem, which I suspect is some sort of malware that got onto my computer at the same time as the other virus. Whenever I try to do a search (mainly just searches pertaining to the problem at hand, although some normal searches as well), any link that comes up redirects me to a site to buy things or page of fake search engine results. I’m not sure what’s going on and I can’t find out because whatever has installed itself on my computer or in my browser is hijacking my search results. I’m sure there’s an answer out there, but I can’t find it because I can’t do a proper search. Any tips you can give me for how to eliminate this problem would be greatly appreciated. I use Firefox and XP Professional. Also, I have been receiving a lot of notifications from Nortons that an IP address in Luxembourg (212.117.174.176) is trying to attack my computer. I’m not sure if this has something to do with it or not. Thanks. unlock iphone 3g

I deleted norton virus since my account already expired. So I borrowed my brother’s Mcafee and installed it to my computer. I tried getting on the Internet but when I do the page connection says cannot be connected. So I checked the signal strength and it says ” very good” but it’s still not connected? I share a router that is located in my sister’s room which is like 10 ft away, and her computer is working just fine with the Internet. But I can’t get on because it says ” enter http in the address”. I try to diganose and repair it say “no problems detected”… I don’t understand what can be blocking me from the Internet. Oh ya d the firewalls are not up and I have windows vista. Can somebody help me please? My sons have an HP one year old laptop running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Of course, just turned a year old two days ago and warranty is now up. There is not a lot of software on this thing. I installed ESET Nod32 and it runs well. I just scanned and there are no threats found. No popups are appearing in IE. There is no sign of a virus anywhere. There are multiple problems that I cannot figure out. When we try to shut the computer down, it gets stuck in Logging Off screen. I try Ctrl Alt Delete to bring up Task Manager but it will not appear. I get the Icon down in the lower right part of the screen, but cannot click on it to open it up. I tried to do a System Restore. I select it, but nothing happens. When I try doing it all over again, it says that it is already running, but it is not. I have tried uninstalling things they dont need but the uninstall freezes up also and when i hit cancel, it just remains cancelling without doing anything. I am usually pretty good at fixing things but this one has me stumped. If I could just do a restore, i feel like i could get it back to where it was before this started happening a couple of days ago,. Any help is appreciated. stress reduction daily motivation how to stop procrastinating the power of your subconscious mind parenting tips overcome shyness improve concentration
